BUDDIE-PACK's annual meeting in Sheffield (UK), in Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures University of Sheffield, on 15 and 16 April 2025
🗓️ On April 15–16, all partners of the Buddie-Pack - contribution to the EU plastics strategy project gathered at the The University of Sheffield in the UK, for a pivotal 4th consortium meeting — marking a critical phase as we are in the final year of the project!
Over two intensive and inspiring days, we celebrated the strong collaboration that is propelling us toward our goals:
🔹 Day 1: Each work package leader presented updates across key areas — from innovative design ; social & behavioural insights ; materials & manufacturing processes ; quality & safety to business models ; economic, social and environmental impact assessment ; and finally communication & exploitation.
The level of engagement and cross-disciplinary input was truly energizing. 🚀
🔹 Day 2: Focus shifted to the 5 large-scale demonstration use cases, showcasing exciting progress and real-world implementation. We got to see and touch the newly developed trays and bottles and had in-depth discussions on final tasks to be carried out until the end of the year — including challenging logistics, traceability of circular packaging, and upcoming recyclability tests.
👏 While some people might believe there is not much happening around reuse, this project proves otherwise. The knowledge and solutions developed in Buddie-Pack will help shape future standards and best practices for reusable plastic packaging across Europe and beyond !
Many thanks again to the Sheffield team and thank you to everyone involved for the synergy of ideas and the shared commitment — let’s keep this momentum going!
